On behalf of the International Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology (International ASET Inc.) and Ryerson University, the organizing committee would like to welcome you to the 4th International Conference on Nanotechnology: Fundamentals and Applications (ICNFA’13).

As globalization leads to increasing interaction among regions and people of the world, it is important to encourage multi-disciplinarily in emerging scientific topics such as nanotechnology. Nanotechnology is still in its infancy, yet it is developing at an incredible pace and has given rise to numerous novel applications and solutions to many current problems. The market opportunity is substantial. Science and engineering at the nanoscale will have a dramatic impact on fields such as computing, electronics, telecommunications, energy, environment, and medicine. The current global market for nanotechnology is worth billions of dollars and is expected to increase rapidly in the near future. Many business and government leaders describe nanotechnology as “the Next Industrial Revolution”, yet the environmental and health impacts remain unknown. However, there is a great need to assess and study the implications and how this new technology can be harvested.

The aim of the 4th International Conference on Nanotechnology: Fundamentals and Applications is to gather scientists and engineers from all over the world to present advances in the field of nanotechnology and to foster an environment conducive to exchanging ideas and information. This conference will also provide a golden opportunity to develop new collaborations and meet world nanotechnology experts on the fundamentals, applications and products.

In the fourth meeting of this conference, seven keynote speakers will share their expertise in the various aspects of nanotechnology with the aim of exposing participants to a wide spectrum of applications, and to foster crosspollination of ideas, developing new research interests. In addition, 83 papers will be presented covering many aspects of nanotechnology. Furthermore, ICNFA’13 will be hosting the “Symposium on Nanotechnology in Anticancer Research” organized by Dr. Andriy Voronov.

Toronto is an outstandingly beautiful city which blends English and International cultures. We hope you will have time to enjoy the ambience and hospitality of this city.

We thank you for your participation and contribution to the 4th International Conference on Nanotechnology: Fundamentals and Applications. We wish you a very successful and enjoyable experience.
